About the Portal

The patient portal is a secure feature of RHM’s online system, Athena Health, which allows the patient to create an account in which she can keep track of her health information. The portal stores all RHM medical encounters, provider orders, and test results for the patient’s referral. It also has a messaging system which allows patients and staff to communicate. All patients are required to register for the patient portal upon first scheduling as a new patient with RHM Gynecology.

Portal Messaging
The patient portal messaging system enables the patient to communicate with RHM staff, and vice versa

How to Send a Message:

The easiest way to send a portal message is by logging onto the patient portal homepage, then scrolling down to the message box on the homepage. Choose which recipient staff you would like to message, then choose the subject line that is most relevant to the message you are sending. When the message is sent, RHM staff will see it and triage the message to the appropriate staff member. Messages will be responded to within 24 hours. Please note, the portal messaging system is not to be utilized for medical advice or treatment. If a patient has extensive medical questions for our providers, she needs to make an appointment to properly discuss these questions. Do not message through the portal if you are having a medical emergency; always call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

How to Upload a Document

If a patient has images or documents to upload through the portal, once again log onto the portal homepage. Below the message box is a paperclip symbol for attaching files. Click on this symbol, and it will allow you to upload any images or documents that you want to send. Make sure the image and/or document is in .pdf format before uploading. Once the document is uploaded, the message can be sent. Common files that are uploaded through the portal are ID and insurance cards for virtual patients, test results, medical records, and any other files that the patient wants in her chart or are requested by the practice.

Paying Your Bill

Guest Payments

Guest payments provide a secure way for you to pay your owed balance. If your email is on file at the practice, you’ll receive an email when you have an outstanding balance, giving you the option to view and pay your balance right then and there. You can make these payments from your mobile phone or computer, without having to log in to the Patient Portal or come into the office.

Is it secure?

Yes! If you use the Patient Portal, you can still log in to your account to make the payment. If not, you’ll receive a code via phone call or text (your choice!), which you’ll then use to log in as a guest and make your payment.

How to Pay as a Guest

  1. Receive a Guest Payment email and click link

  2. Receive and enter the temporary passcode

  3. Review your balance

  4. Make a payment on your balance

  5. Review, submit, and receive payment confirmation
